Join us after hours in the botanical garden for a class on making beer. Daniel Garcia of Second Alarm Brewhouse takes us through the process from start to finish; demonstrating the steps with a portable home brew system and showcasing different grains, hops and yeasts essential to brewing favorite styles and flavors.
Daniel Garcia is brewer and co-owner of Second Alarm Brewhouse in Jemez Springs, NM. He is recently retired from the Army after 21 years; he spent 12 of those years in Haz-Mat response. Second Alarm Brewhouse partner, Jess Lewis is retired from the fire department after 25 years. Jess and Daniel became friends through work in emergency response. They opened Second Alarm Brewhouse in 2018. Daniel has been home brewing since 2008; he graduated from the CNM Brewing Program in December 2018.
