Grab your loved ones and head to the botanical garden for some hands-on family fun! Designed for families of all ages and stages, Growing Together in the Garden is a series of classes offered by the Botanical Garden this year that provides ample opportunity for sharing the love of gardening and learning how to incorporate new skills in your garden and at home. Gardening has been shown to have a multitude of social, cognitive, physical and emotional benefits for both children and adults. Every class allows for hands on exploration and follow-up activities for increased connection and understanding.

About your Instructor: Danielle Simmons has spent her professional life using contact with nature as the foundation of her therapeutic practice. She was inspired by her childhood experience of play in the forests in upstate New York and has devoted her practice to finding a way to connect human wellness with a deeper engagement to the natural world. In addition to holding dual New Mexico licensure as a Clinical Mental Health Counselor and Professional Art Therapist, Danielle has pursued post graduate studies and certificates in horticultural therapy, eco-psychology and eco-art therapy. For the last ten years Danielle has led therapeutic gardening classes for both children and adults in the Santa Fe County. She integrates her knowledge and experiences into her offerings at TheGreenGrowingEdge.com.
