Location- Meeting in the Parking Lot of the Santa Fe Botanical Garden, 715 Camino Lejo, Santa Fe, NM, 87505

La Vega is a beautiful high altitude meadow that sits directly beneath Santa Fe Baldy in the Santa Fe National Forest’s Pecos Wilderness. On this hike, we should be able to see aspen colors at their peak, both along the hike and at our destination. The hike round-trip, is 8 miles, and is moderate. We will drive to the Santa Fe Ski Basin parking lot, and begin on the Windsor Trail, eventually taking a spur trail that will take us to La Vega. This is a beautiful place for lunch. Bring water, rain gear (in case), and lunch.

We will meet in the parking lot of the Santa Fe Botanical Garden and leave in a carpool by 9:00 AM. Trekking poles and sturdy foot ware are strongly recommended. Your payment for this hike will be used to reimburse any drivers for gas used for this trip. You will also be provided a light snack after the hike.
