Come to this engaging lecture that will delve into the topic of sustainable, eco-friendly travel. We will begin by defining eco-travel and discussing its tenants so you can be a discerning traveler when planning your own excursions. We will conclude with recommendations on eco-friendly places to travel in New Mexico based on the award-winning book Eco-Travel New Mexico (University of New Mexico Press, 2017). Prepare yourself for a heightened desire to explore our beautiful outdoor landscapes!

About the Lecturer- Born and raised in New Mexico, Ashley M. Biggers is an award-winning travel journalist who has contributed to many publications, including CNN, USA Today, Fodor's Travel, and Alaska Airways’ Beyond, among many others. She serves as editor of GuestLife New Mexico, and she is the author of Eco-Travel New MexicoEco-Travel New Mexico earned a bronze from the 2018 Society of American Travel Writers Lowell Thomas Foundation Travel Journalism Awards and was named the best travel book in 2018 by the New Mexico/Arizona Book Awards. She lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
