In this course students will learn how to bring methods of nature journaling to their backyards and daily lives, enriching their understanding of the natural world and providing a record of small scale ecological changes. This class will include a discussion of nature journal history and methodology, a primer on field guides, and hands-on field work. Students should come prepared for sitting out in the field taking notes; gear to be outdoors is recommended (sunscreen, hat, long pants, etc.). Each student will receive a field notebook with the purchase of their class ticket.
