Jumpstart Your Memoir is for beginners and those seeking inspiration to start or continue with a book, memoir, or project. Participants will engage in writing sessions, and at the end of class you are welcome to share your work with others. Writing tips will be provided, and each student will create a personal blueprint for success.

Please bring your preferred writing medium, either a pencil and paper, ipad, or laptop computer.

About our Instructors: Elaine Pinkerton Coleman: A resident of Santa Fe since 1967, Elaine Pinkerton Coleman has been a writer all her life. This combination resulted in the first edition of her bestselling guidebook Santa Fe on Foot in 1986. The latest edition appeared in 2016 and is becoming a local favorite. A freelance writer for decades, she is the author of six books, including The Goodbye Baby, Beast of Bengal, and All the Wrong Places.

 

Lucy Moore is author of “Into the Canyon: Seven Years in Navajo Country,” winner of the Best Memoir from Women Writing the West, 2004. It is a poignant and funny memoir about her experiences as a young, idealistic, white woman learning to survive and thrive in a foreign culture. She is also author of “Common Ground on Hostile Turf: Stories from an Environmental Mediator,” winner of the Sharon Pickett Award for writing and professional achievement in the field of mediation. Lucy lives in Santa Fe with her artist husband and two spoiled cats.
