Explore the beauty of a restored rangeland area in a Santa Fe City Greenbelt. This area was destroyed by the construction of new housing and trails with no restoration work after the land was laid barren. After years of restoration effort, the area now flourishes with native grasses, forbs, shrubs, and young trees. This class will meet at the site and discuss the low cost rebuilding methods that were used for restoration. You will learn how to restore affected areas into erosion resistant, sustainable rangeland without spending an arm and a leg.
About Your Instructor: Terence Foreback has worked in land restoration of large sites utilizing native plant species throughout most of his career. Currently he is a docent at the Santa Fe Botanical Garden.
