Come to this lecture to learn how a residential lot in the Santa Fe area can be transformed into various themed gardens. In addition to a historical look at the formation of the Eldorado community, you will be provided with ecological conditions and the soil composition of the area. Sections of the speaker's garden, lovingly named Eldorado Windy Farm, will be discussed which includes the formation and maintenance of a fruit orchard, lavender garden, vegetable & herb garden, cactus garden, pond garden, flower garden, bees, and a study of the surrounding wild plants for bees.

About the presenter: Dr. Ken Bower and his wife Susan have lived in Eldorado around Santa Fe since 2001. Since then they have transformed their lot by adding many garden features through both trial and error. Learning what plants grow in this area and how to care for them is a must for anyone wishing to become a home gardener in northern New Mexico.
