Volunteer Composters Intro Meeting

Join Linda Churchill for an intro to the new Volunteer Composters program at SFBG. We will talk about goals, equipment, and plans to develop our composting program. We will also discuss meeting schedules and training program. This is not a meeting to learn "all about compost" but you can also sign up for the separate Volunteer Learning Session about compost on April 12!
We are looking for a dedicated "Rot Squad” who will be able to keep our station running smoothly. The work will include chipping garden debris with the new machine and building, turning, watering, and otherwise maintaining the compost in the bins. We envision this as a weekly project through May (spring clean-up season), probably every other week thereafter. Meetings will be after hours either Wednesdays or Thursdays so we can run the chipper while there are not visitors in the Garden.
Note: this is an informational meeting to get us started. Anyone working with the chipper or in the compost bins MUST go through trainings (TBD).
